Mr. Grimsley was born and raised in Orlando, Florida. After graduating from Colonial High School, Mr. Grimsley served three years in the United States Army. Upon graduation from UCF, Mr. Grimsley worked in the finance field for five years, prior to attending law school at the University of Florida, where he earned his Juris Doctor degree in 1997.
Upon graduation from the University of Florida College of Law, Mr. Grimsley went to work in the commercial real estate department of a large law firm located in downtown Orlando, where he became a shareholder and practiced law for 14 years. Mr. Grimsley’s practice focuses on the documentation and closing of commercial and residential real estate loans and asset-based loans for institutional lenders, individuals and private entities, as well as the acquisition, disposition, leasing, management and development of commercial and residential real estate. Mr. Grimsley possesses extensive experience in the documentation and negotiation of commercial loans in the areas of secured real estate lending, asset-based lending and United States Small Business Administration guaranteed loans (under both the 7A and CDC 504 Loan Programs). He has documented commercial loans in connection with the refinancing, acquisition and development of single and multiple commercial parcels, condominiums, hotels, residential subdivisions, mixed-use developments and mobile home parks. Mr. Grimsley is also a title agent for one of the largest title underwriters in the nation.
Mr. Grimsley has a broad knowledge base regarding troubled loans and distressed properties. He has vigorously represented both lenders and borrowers and is creative and innovative in his approach to seeking solutions to the issues inherent in troubled loan relationships and distressed properties.
